Bacon Mushroom Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

  • 250g of your favourite pasta (linguine, fettuccine, or spaghetti work well)
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (cremini or white button mushrooms)
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta – Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add your pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. Cook the Bacon – In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until it’s crispy and brown. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess grease. Once it’s cooled, crumble or chop the bacon into small pieces.
  3. Sauté the Mushrooms -In the same skillet, using the bacon drippings, add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté them until the mushrooms are tender and slightly browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
  4. Create the Sauce – Pour in the heavy cream and chicken (or vegetable) broth, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for a few minutes to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Add the Parmesan and Butter – Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and butter, and let them melt into the sauce. This will further thicken the sauce and make it incredibly creamy and rich.
  6. Combine Pasta and Bacon – Return the cooked pasta to the skillet and gently toss it in the creamy bacon mushroom sauce until everything is well coated.
  7. Serve and Garnish – Divide the pasta onto plates, and top it with the crumbled bacon and freshly chopped parsley. A little extra sprinkle of Parmesan cheese never hurt either!
