We have a Mickey Mouse Oral B electric toothbrush and its still a mission. My toddler is really fussy when it comes to his mouth. We also have about 4 different brands of toothpaste as he regularly claims its burning his mouth. Si I keep a variety in order to change it up regularly. We are currently bribing him to brush his teeth. He gets a reward for co-operating with the brushing.
I am fortunate enough that my boy does not have any issues when comes to brushing he does it twice a day religiously.
The only issue I ever faced with him was brushing his tongue, so I use a corner of a face cloth with glycerine and clean his tongue.
Theres a kiddies song germy the germ or something to that notion that we used to sing even before he could speak, its something we heard and made our own version to it and now he sings it on his own.
Flossing…. I only get to so every alternate day and that to its just his front teeth.
I do not know how you manage to be so effective in this department. Teethbrushing is a huge huge struggle for me. I really do not know what to do anymore. My girl refuse to open her mouth when I have the toothbrush in my mouth. We have 5 different tooth brushes including an electric one and two kinds of toothpaste.

I have also tried various toothbrushes – manual and electric. My son loves Cars (the movie). So I found the Oral B one from Clicks with the replaceable head. Its a bonus that the toothbrush is in blue and red as well – two of his favorite colors. My son actually looks forward to brushing his teeth now. Added with a great tasting toothpaste (bubblegum) flavor – I have not had a problem again. The toothbrush also has a timer and stops vibrating after two minutes.
So we now look forward to brushing our teeth everyday which is a bonus for me as we no longer have tears over a toothbrush.
We also bought an electrical toothbrush for my toddler a while ago. It’s a ORAL B spiderman one. When your toddler insist that everything must be spiderman, then I will get him a spiderman toothbrush and you know what…we do not struggle with him to brush his teeth.
He wants to stand with us and when we are finish, then I need to brush his teeth. He doesn’t want to do it himself yet, but that suits me because if I brush it, I know it’s clean.
The toothbrush was not that expensive so if it’s time to replace the brush, I will have to buy a new one. Maybe it will be a different character. It looks like we are moving towards Paw Patrol so hopefully I will find one somewhere.

An electric toothbrush is always a good thing to invest in. I’ve had no problems with my kids using their ones. When they were younger i used to buy the battery operated ones but it doesn’t last very long. Oral B has always been our family choice. We have ours for years and we regularly change the heads. A very good thing to remember is that when the kids have the flu or even when you have the flu do not use your electric toothbrush unless you are willing to part with a good toothbrush head. Rather use a disposable toothbrush as the germs still breeds in the toothbrush. When the kids are sick i let them use the disposable ones. A good quality one will last you for years and it doesn’t always mean the expensive one will last the longest. Oral B overall is a good product. I’ve also been through many toothpastes and the pink strawberry mentadent P for kids does not burn. My son loves it even though it is pink, he doesn’t mind. I sometimes also just use it as a quick breath freshner after eating garlic. PS: Always keep disposable toothbrushes in the house!
@Gayle, I have never tried Mentadent P for kids, I need to try that. My son currently rotates between Colgate and Aquafresh toothpaste.
Will see if the grocery stores stock Mentadent P on my next visit.
