Avoid direct inhalation of the vapor emitted by the oil diffuser or steam dispenser because it can cause irritation in your mucous membrane. If nausea symptoms continue over a period of forty-eight hours or you start displaying symptoms of dehydration, immediately discontinue the use of essential oils and consult with your doctor. 

These home remedies are meant for alleviating mild nausea. However, it will not cure the root cause of the nausea if you are having a viral or bacterial infection.
