My husband and I had our April date at Ek En Djy Vissery at Bokkomlaan in Velddrif. I’ve been wanting to go there for a while since I have become very fond of Bokkomlaan since moving to Velddrif and its one of the places I hadn’t been to.
About Ek En Djy Vissery
Ek En Djy Vissery is a restaurant at Bokkomlaan, Velddrif. They serve breakfast, lunches, light meals, and drinks. There is undercover seating at the restaurant and seating on the jetty looking over the water. The restaurant is open from 09h00 till 15h00 daily except for Tuesdays.
My Review Of Ek En Djy Vissery
We loved sitting on the jetty to eat, it was so relaxing looking over the water at the boats going past and all the bird life. There were geese swimming right next to us and flamingoes across the river.
The menu includes breakfasts (served all day), burgers, toasted sandwiches, burgers, salads, seafood, and more. My husband chose the African Burn breakfast (2 eggs, 2 toast, 2 bacon, sausage, patty, baked beans, chops, and tomato) and I had calamari and chips.
My husband said his breakfast was superb, better than he expected. My calamari was tender and tasty, perfectly cooked, and the chips were perfect. My tartar sauce came in a shell, which was such a nice touch.
The service was friendly and good, all in all a fantastic afternoon out. If you are looking for a quaint little place to eat out in the West Coast I highly recommend trying out Ek En Dyk Vissery in Velddrif.
