Cracklin’ Rosie River Tour Review – Great Family Morning Out

I’m so excited to share my Cracklin Rosie River Tour review, we moved to Velddrif towards the end of last year and going for a river cruise on the Berg River was something that I really wanted to do with my family.

The Cracklin’ Rosie takes you on two hour river cruises on the Berg River. Wendy and Nico depart daily from Bokkomlaan in Velddrif, offering a unique experience of the Berg River.

They offer breakfast cruises, sunset cruises, birthday parties, small events, birdwatching, and more. You can also catch a ride to the River Shack Bar and back.

The boat seats 23 people and there are 4 trips a day (weather permitting). They also offer 1 hour cruises.

My Cracklin Rosie River Tour Review

It was a relaxing and fun morning spent on the Cracklin’ Rosie. The boat left at 10am and we were given a pamphlet with pictures and names of birds we might see along the way so it is easy to identify them. I see the Berg River every day since I live in Velddrif but it was a completely different experience being on the river and seeing everything from there.

We got to see loads of flamingos and other birds up close which was a treat. The vibe on the boat was fantastic, and so relaxing. Wendy and Nico are friendly people who make the trip a pleasure.

Make sure to take some food and drinks, binoculars, sun hat, sun screen, and a warm top in case it gets chilly on the water.

I’m so chuffed I’ve gotten to tick the Cracklin’ Rosie off my bucket list, if you visit Velddrif I highly recommend you take this river cruise. At only R250 per person for a two hour trip, or R125 for one hour trip you cannot go wrong. Make sure to follow their Facebook page for special events.
