November 2023 buzzed with activity as I navigated my kids final exams, concluding my online SEO course, and managing the whirlwind of activities marking the school year’s end. Juggling studies, last-minute assignments, and the excitement of forthcoming holidays made it an exhilarating yet challenging month.

Finished My SEO Course

I finished my university of cape town course on Search Engine Optimisation online through GetSmarter. It was a challenging yet intensely rewarding experience. I got my provisional marks back recently and I’m super proud to say I got 94% overall. Juggling kids exams, school holidays, being sick, managing a household and work was tough but I am so glad I went ahead and did it. It has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’m pleased to say I’ve already started working with my first client and it is super exciting!

The Exam Struggle Is Real

I’m not sure what it was about this year, but it has felt like this fourth term has been harder and more stressful than any other year to date. The term was packed with assessments and activities, with my daughter going on her first school camp and my son having a minor surgical procedure.

I have not had a moment to catch my breathe from day my kids started their third terms until now and I am so grateful that my kids are now done and dusted with everything for the year. Prizegiving was yesterday and we will be receiving their reports today.

I haven’t even thought about stationery or text books for next year, but I will get to that as soon as I can rest a bit and rejuvenate!

Festive Season Plans

Tomorrow I’m throwing an early birthday party for my son, his 10th birthday is on the 20th of December. I’m going to be baking up a storm this afternoon! On Sunday we are going to visit my parents for about a week at their farm in Swellendam. When we get back home we are planning to have a quiet holiday at home until school starts, and I will have plenty of time to prepare for the new school year then.
