I’m a foodie through and through and chocolate makes me very happy. When I was contacted to do a Nova Choc-Oh-Late review I was over the moon and when the hamper arrived I was super impressed. I received loads of different chocolates, hot chocolate and 3 different types of baking buttons.

My Nova Choc-Oh-Late Review
When I opened the box from Nova Choc-Oh-Late I was blown away!
Here’s what I received:
- 11 bars of 100g chocolate (their full range of flavours): milk chocolate, white chocolate, plain dark chocolate, dark chocolate with mint, dark chocolate with roasted cacao, dark chocolate with smooth peanut butter, dark chocolate with toasted coconut, milk chocolate with coconut, milk chocolate with salted caramel, chocolate chilli and salted caramel, cashew & chilli.
- 6 bars of 40g chocolate: milk chocolate, plain dark chocolate, dark chocolate with roasted cacao, dark chocolate with toasted coconut, milk chocolate with coconut, and salted caramel, cashew & chilli.
- 3 x 500g baking buttons – milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate
- 300g hot chocolate
Not only is it a good amount of chocolate to get through, but the packaging is nothing short of exquisite and the first thing I noticed about it. The designs are fun, funky and colourful.
Nova Choc-Oh-Late Bars
The chocolates are delicious. Now while I really do try and focus on eating healthily, I also love the taste of sugar and I love chocolate. I was honestly not expecting the chocolate to taste so good without added sugar but I was so wrong. These hit the spot perfectly.
My father is diabetic and he came to visit in the December holidays so I have him the 100g dark chocolate and the dark chocolate with toasted coconut as those are labeled sugar-free while some of the chocolates are labeled no added sugar. His feedback is that the chocolate is high quality, smooth and very tasty. It was fantastic being able to gift him chocolate that he can eat without worry that it will affect his blood sugar levels.
My sister is a vegan and some of the chocolates are vegan. For Christmas I gifted her some of the 100g vegan chocolates: dark chocolate with peanut butter, chocolate chilli and salted caramel, cashew & chilli. She loved the packaging and the taste. She shared it with her vegan friends when she got home after Christmas and they all loved it.
My husband and kids loved the chocolate bars too. My family are into sweet treats big time and it is not always easy being able to give them treats and at the same time make sure they don’t overdo the sugar. It is a constant battle, but over the festive season we took down the Nova Choc-Oh-Late chocolates guilt free.
My all time favourite flavour of this range is the dark chocolate with mint.
Chocolate Baking Buttons
The first pack of baking buttons I opened was the milk chocolate baking buttons. We were making waffles and I did not have any chocolate sauce so I melted some in the microwave with some milk to make a chocolate sauce for our waffles. They taste awesome and my kids and I started eating them out the bag as treats for a while until they were nearly finished. I had to quickly make some muffins to make sure that I actually used them as intended! Click here for the chocolate button muffin recipe I made.
I made some dark chocolate button cookies with the dark chocolate baking buttons and they were all eaten by the end of day. My family loved them and for some reason I really enjoyed pushing the baking buttons into the hot cookies. Lots of fun and very tasty.
I’ve opened the milk chocolate baking buttons and eaten some. Oops here we go again right? They are lovely and I’m hoping my kids and I won’t scoff the lot before I manage to bake something with them. I can’t make any promises here but if I manage to back something with them I will share the recipe.
My kids love hot chocolate and always beg me for some. They were so happy to find the hot chocolate included in the delivery. While I love the hot chocolate they are used to sweeter (sugar filled) brands and are taking a bit of time to get used to it. Until then I will enjoy having the hot chocolate to myself, nothing wrong with loving something that the kids don’t polish off quickly all the time!
Nova Choc-Oh-Late gets a huge thumbs up for me. It is excellent quality, delicious, beautifully packaged and best of all a healthy option for treats. Check out my Instagram story highlight for Nova Choc-Oh-Late for unboxing and more.
