Fleas are carried around on our pets. Fleas love living in places where there’s no sunlight, so making sure your grass is cut regularly and that your garden is decluttered will help to prevent fleas. Make sure to treat your pet for fleas on a regular basis, and remove any fleas they may already have with a comb or a flea bath. Keeping up a regular vacuuming routine also makes sure that any fleas in your carpets are removed.

Bed Bugs

Bed bugs often get into our homes through clothing, suitcases or used furniture. If you are going on a trip, you should keep a close eye on your luggage while you are travelling. Always check your hotel rooms thoroughly for any bed bug infestations that may be present.  Cockroaches are one of the worst pests you could have infesting your home. And it gets even worse when they can cause allergies as well. If anyone in your house suffers from allergies or asthma, the presence of cockroaches can worsen the symptoms. Coming into contact with the saliva, faeces and body parts of a cockroach can trigger allergies.

In urban areas like London, almost 63% of homes are have experienced an infestation at some point and needed cockroach pest control. Cockroaches are a huge problem in many UK homes, and the problem won’t disappear without professional treatment.

The reason that cockroaches cause allergies is because they have a protein in their skin which a lot of people are allergic to. This substance triggers an allergic reaction on the skin, known as roach rash. Cockroach faeces are a potential allergen to everyone, not just people who are sensitive to allergies. There’s no safe way to have cockroaches in your home.

When you suffer from an allergic reaction to cockroaches, you can experience a number of symptoms that mimic allergies to other things. Itchy red watery eyes, sneezing, skin rashes and coughing are all symptoms of a cockroach allergy. If someone in your home has asthma it is particularly dangerous because cockroaches being present in the home triggers asthma attacks.

Roach rash appears as a rash on the skin, and is also very itchy. People get this rash when a cockroach comes into contact with their skin. It can also appear when you come into contact with cockroach faeces.

The only way to stop cockroach allergies is to eliminate any chance of cockroaches infesting your home. You need to get in touch with a professional pest controller who is trained in eliminating cockroach infestations.

  1. Cockroaches is the one of my problem i try many things to get rid of it but its always come back , thankfully this small type seems like the do no harm but there very irritating and embarrassing. Please ud you have any tips to get rid of them permanently please do share

    • We moved into a new home early last year and the kitchen was swarming with cockroaches. We tried all types of insecticides and remedies but nothing worked. Eventually we had to get a pest control company to solve the problem. They came once and the cockroaches were gone for a week when we started seeing them again. We were prepared for this because the experts warned us that they cannot kill the eggs. We waited another two weeks for all the eggs to hatch and called pest control again. Our problem is solved. It cost us about R1200 for two sessions with the guys from pest control, but it is totally worth it. It is so nice to not worry about these little pests anymore.

  2. I have always opted for home remedies rather than resorting to pest control.
The best I have found for bed bugs is baking soda, you sift it onto the bed and let it lay for about an half hour or so and vacuum.
For any stains on the bed itself I usually use a vinegar rub and works fantastically.
The best part to the baking soda after aired once vacuumed up the bed has a fresh aroma, I normally do this on a monthly basis to prevent bed bugs.
