When an unwanted guest crosses any of the beams or activates a detection device, an audible alarm a strobe will be triggered. If you have a monitoring service as part of your package, the monitoring station will be alerted, and they will send out the relevant authorities to investigate.

Internal Alarm System

This option is a more affordable option, and the difference between this one and the perimeter alarm system is that this particular one provides protection when you are not at home. Detection devices are installed throughout the property, and in the event of a break-in or intrusion, the monitoring station will be alerted when any one of the detected devices are triggered. They can determine where the intrusion is taking place, i.e. the passage, family room or bedroom and can track the movements of the burglar throughout the premises.

Detection Devices

Movement Detector: the cheapest option of the lot. This device has an infrared motion sensor that detects movement and heat whether it is a pet, an intruder or even an open fire.

Pet Sensors: these devices leave the option open to have pets inside the house when the alarm is turned on as it will pick up the movement of objects from a certain size upwards.

Reed Switches: are usually placed on doors or windows and consist of a magnet and small reed (contact) and activates as soon as the magnet is moved.

Smoke Alarms: can be connected to the security system and in the event of any smoke present it will send out an early detection signal.

Beams: are usually connected between a transmitter and a receiver. You have the option of installing a single beam, twin beam or quad beam and can operate over a significant area.

Hold-up button: is a button that can be operated manually and contacts the monitoring station when the button is pressed. To reduce the probability of false alarms being triggered, it’s best to opt for a dual button device instead of a single button device.

Internal Alarm System

Monitored Vs Unmonitored Alarm Systems:

1.) Monitored System

2.) Unmonitored System

This alarm is not monitored by a call center and in the event of a break-in a loud siren will go off. This means that the neighbors will have to alert the authorities when you are not at home.
