My recent 46th birthday was hands down the best celebration I’ve had in years. While I’m not usually big on receiving gifts, I was completely blown away by the thoughtful surprises I got – one of the standout gifts being this gorgeous Cotton Girls cowl poncho. I couldn’t wait to try it on, and I’m excited to share my thoughts on it in this review.

About Cotton Girls

Cotton Girls is a family-run business based in the heart of Cape Town, known for creating unique and comfortable cotton garments. With roots that trace back to the early 1990s, the business originally started out as Skandinavian Knitwear, selling at Greenmarket Square. Over the years, it has grown steadily and now supplies both local and international customers.

Each Cotton Girls piece is thoughtfully crafted by a small team of women in their Cape Town workshop. The brand is passionate about quality and durability, using only top-grade materials, with every garment pre-treated to ensure it lasts for years to come. My Cotton Girls Cowl Poncho Review

This cowl poncho by Cotton Girls instantly became my go-to winter essential the moment I put it on. It’s incredibly soft, super comfy, and drapes beautifully when worn. I love how flattering the fit is and how effortlessly stylish it looks, whether I’m out and about or just relaxing at home. One of my favourite features is the neck, which you can pull up at the back and wear as a hoodie – such a clever and cosy touch!

It’s one of those timeless pieces that works perfectly for any occasion, whether you’re dressing up or keeping it casual. And what really sealed the deal for me is the practicality – I’m not a fan of handwashing, so I was thrilled to see that all of Cotton Girls’ garments are machine washable and can be tumble dried. It’s rare to find something that ticks all the boxes for comfort, style, and convenience – but this poncho absolutely does.
