I made a new friend in the area a few weeks ago and we met at Avoo Health Cafe for lunch. It is a stunning little place, so I’m excited to share my Avoo Health Cafe review with you.
Avoo Health Cafe
Avoo Health Cafe is a restaurant in Bokkomlaan, Velddrif. It has an outdoor shaded seating area overlooking the Berg River. It is right opposite where the Cracklin’ Rosie is moored. They have a simple health menu consisting of breakfasts, lunches, and smoothies. They are open every day from 09h00 to 15h00.
They have a meal plan for each month where you can collect a homecooked meal for supper and/ or lunch Monday to Friday for R60 per meal and you can also get it delivered for an extra R10. This also have an option to pay R2200 per month for lunch and dinner.
My Avoo Health Cafe Review
Avoo Health Cafe is a lovely spot with a relaxed, friendly vibe. It is a small place with only a few tables and the menu is limited to health food. Breakfasts include brekkie, bun on the run, Avoo toast (avo toast), and early bird smoothie. Lunches include tramazzini, wrap, chicken and corn salad, and a bacon, feta & Avoo burger.
Drinks available are fruit juices, Coke Zero, Coke Light, Sprite Zero, water (still and sparkling), mocktails, and some hot drinks.
I had the chicken wrap (chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, basil pesto & feta) with sweet potato chips and salad, and it was delicious. My kids had the bacon, feta and Avoo burger but of course being kids they stripped it down to basically being a bacon bun.
The food was great and the vibe was fantastic. It is such a restful and laidback place.
