Apple Cider Vinegar Diet Drink Recipe That Helped Me Lose 7kg in 2 Months!

I’ve heard about amazing weight loss diet drinks and I have to be honest when I say that I never truly believed they could make much of a difference. However this year I started trying out an apple cider vinegar diet drink with absolutely astounding results. Now I swear by it!

This recipe that I used is not exactly like anything I found online, I researched different ways to make your own diet drinks and then concocted my own!

The first time I tried it I found it quite hard to swallow this concoction – it is not very palatable to begin with. I drank 1.5lt the first day and the next morning when I weighed myself I had lost a whopping 1.8kg… yes overnight! I went from 80.1kg to 78.3kg.

Apple Cider Vinegar Diet Drink

Obviously it can’t be all fat that just miraculously disappeared overnight,. I am sure a lot was water retention and other fluids but it was weight loss and very motivating for me. It was completely unexpected and since I have been struggling to lose weight for a few years now it is very welcome.

The second day of drinking this it went down a lot easier, I am not sure if I became more used to the taste of the drink from the second day onwards or if I was so happy with losing weight that I was whistling a happy tune while preparing my drink. I’ve come to realize that so much of my weight loss journey is about positivity.

I have been using this apple cider vinegar diet drink on and off for 2 months and I now weigh 73.1kg – a total loss of 7kg. Drinking this has not been the only thing that I have been doing to lose weight, but it has played a major part in it.

I will be sharing everything else soon, but for now here is my apple cider vinegar diet drink recipe that I have tweaked over time to fit my needs:

Ingredients:

  • one aloe leaf flesh (video to follow on how to cut aloe) or 1 cap full of aloe concentrate
  • juice of one lemon or juice of half a grapefruit
  • four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • two tablespoons raw organic honey
  • one teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • add water to make up to 2lt

What I like to do before adding the water is blend the mixture with a hand blender because firstly the aloe is very gunky and no matter how hard I try to cut it up it would have lumpy bits in the drink. Blending it mixes the aloe in really nicely. Secondly blending it helped to mix in the cayenne pepper nicely and prevent it from clumping.

The first few times I made it I never blended it and had to drink down clumps of cayenne pepper which wasn’t very nice. Blending it mingles it all together and makes it more palatable.

I drink 2lt in one day. Don’t forget to give your apple cider vinegar diet drink a good shake before drinking it to mix everything up nicely. I don’t sip it slowly, I shake it , pour it into a glass and down it as fast as possible to get it over with. I find this the easiest method.

  1. Apple Cider vinegar is really good for you and if you are able to tweak a recipe enough to suit your tastes it will have fantastic benefits.

Aloe is also extremely beneficial to you. My dad used to grow aloe plants in our garden as it has many wonderful medicinal properties.

My problem is I don’t drink enough water period. I have tried apple cider before and I am not even able to gulp a glass down. I am proud for anyone that is able to drink apple cider vinegar. I going to start to drink more water now…

  2. This is a fantastic recipe that you have shared with us.

Heya Lynne looks awesome! I’ll share your post with my Health Coach, I’m sure she will want to add it to her bank of ideas for her coaching clients. I don’t think I have aloe in my garden… should I plant some for best results or do you think the aloe from Wellness Warehouse is okay? Where do you source your raw organic honey?

    • Lynne Huysamen

Actually I normally get my honey from my parents since they have a farm! There were loads of bee hives all over the farm when they bought it and my mom is allergic to bees so when they researched how to get rid of the bees they found local guys that would come and set up hives in a certain area to harvest the honey and in return my parents get honey regularly! It is a great deal and of course I get the best honey for free.

Regarding the aloes I sometimes chop them up from my garden or I buy from my mother in law that sells the Aloe Ferox range or I buy the Nature’s Choice aloe juice from Checkers. I don’t know the aloe from Wellness Warehouse but I am sure it is fine to buy.

Aah, awesome, Lynne! How cool to have your own honey on tap. 🙂 I just made up my first 750ml (picked up the apple cider vinegar from Spar this morning but when I got home I realised I had no 2-litre bottle anywhere in the house). I’m thinking 750ml might be enough though? Considering I’m also still juicing celery, pineapple, ginger etc most days as well. And doing Time Restricted Eating/Intermittent Fasting.

      • Lynne Huysamen

Lauren it sounds like you have it under control and yes 750ml sounds great. I never made it exactly the same every single time and the one time I put paprika in by mistake instead of cayenne pepper… LOL

Every time I have used it worked very well! Let us know how it works for you!

  8. I will give it a try, I am still breastfeeding my 11 months baby, is it safe? thanks

    • I would be very careful taking anything when you are breastfeeding, especially something that is for weight loss Nthabi.

  9. Brilliant! My mom can’t start her morning without a glass of Apple Cider vinegar and warm water. She doesn’t use Aloe but she uses Himalayan salt along with the listed ingredients.?

  10. Hi Lynne,
So I may be having a brain fart but is 2lt liters? You drink 2 liters a day? This seems like so much to me lol. I can drink 2 liters of water but I don’t see how I can drink 2 liters of this a day. ?

    • Well not every day Felicia! I only drank it for a few days but yes it was not easy getting it all in. While this is a fad diet trick and it did work I recently finished a health challenge with a nutritionist and OMG was it superb! I’ve lost a total of 4 kgs now and I am losing slowly but steadily and I’m loving the process 🙂

    • This is incredible, such an inspiring post too no diet food or any tablets just the cider vinegar thank you and congrats on the weight loss
