Top 5 Ways to Identify High-Quality CBD Oil

CBD oil is an amazing supplement. However, its increasing popularity means that unscrupulous suppliers may try to take advantage of you, especially if you’re new to using it. How do you identify a high-quality oil and avoid being taken in? Here are some of the questions you should ask.

Top 5 Ways To Identify High Quality CBD Oil

  1. Where does the CBD come from?

Look into where a company sources their CBD. If it’s made from hemp, find out where the hemp is grown. If it is grown in the U.S., the farmers have to be certified by state departments of agriculture. Hemp is a bio-accumulator which means it easily absorbs whatever is present in the ground where it is cultivated.

If it comes from outside the U.S., it could be low quality hemp that may even be polluted with heavy metals, such as lead or mercury. The only way you can be absolutely sure that the CBD oil you buy is pure is by purchasing from suppliers who are transparent and willing to share information with you and answer questions.

  1. What extraction process was used?

Different methods are used to process CBD oil. Companies who sell their products at ridiculously low prices may be using toxic solvents, such as propane and butane because this is a cheap extraction method.

Before buying CBD oil, try to find out which extraction method is used. This information may be found on the website, or you could find this out by talking to a customer service representative. Stay away from products made using cheap extraction methods, which usually come at a low price.

The most complex and expensive way to extract the CBD oil by using carbon dioxide under high pressure in an extremely cold environment. Once the CO2 is not under intense pressure anymore, it simply evaporates. This extraction method makes sure the CBD oil remains pure.

There are various other extraction methods, some companies use organic pharmaceutical grade ethanol for extraction which is a safe method that yields a fair amount of cannabinoids.

  1. How much THC does the CBD oil contain?

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is present in both the marijuana and the hemp plant, which are both part of the cannabis family. THC has a psychoactive effect on the body and gives a user a “high.” Hemp is often used over marijuana when creating CBD oil because it contains low levels of THC. The amount of THC present in CBD oil should not exceed 0.3% and poor extraction methods could result in levels over 0.3%.

This could be unfortunate if If you’re going to be drug tested at work or operate heavy machinery. You need to make sure that you purchase a CBD oil certified to have low or zero levels of THC in it. Many manufacturers produce products containing zero THC and it may be more expensive but it’s worth it for those who need to be cautious about the psychoactive component.

  1. What’s the concentration level of the CBD in the product?

Pay attention to the concentration level of the CBD oil you’re buying if you want to make sure you’re getting what you’re paying for. Some companies try to fool consumers by making them think they’re getting more for less.

A quality product should offer somewhere between 250mg to 1,000mg per fluid ounce. If the concentration is not listed, you can divide the volume of the container by the total amount of CBD it contains. For example, 4-ounce bottle containing 1,500mg of CBD has a concentration of 375mg per ounce (1,500 divided by 4 = 375mg per ounce).

  1. Have products have been tested by third-party laboratories?

Products should be tested in third-party laboratories. Independent laboratory testing ensures that the CBD oil contains a good quantity of CBD, a low level of THC, and contains no harmful impurities. Some of the contaminants found in CBD could be pesticides, residual solvents, bacteria and fungus, heavy metals and other foreign matter.

A reputable brand of CBD oil should always have recent lab results available. These are often found on the website or included in the packaging. If not, ask customer service representatives where they are to be found and if they aren’t available, don’t buy the brand’s products.

To sum up

Before ordering your CBD oil, you need to find out if the seller is willing to answer your queries and provide conclusive test results. This will not only reassure you that you’re buying a quality product but show you that the seller cares about you as a customer and doesn’t just want to take your money.

Less transparency usually equates to low-quality CBD oil and suspect products. Accountability and transparency are signs of a company you can trust and this is the first step to buying a quality product.

  1. I’m using this product must say it really does wonders love it

  2. I’m glad to hear it is helping you @shireen493 – I have a friend that has multiple sclerosis and she uses cannabis to help with her symptoms. She says it works wonders.

I’ve never tried it personally and never will since I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict so I won’t touch anything with cannabis even if there is no THC in it…. same like I won’t eat anything cooked in alcohol even though the alcohol is cooked away.

That’s just my personal circumstances but I believe it is incredibly useful medicinally.
