Trying out new places to eat and visit in the West Coast is something I love to do and something on my bucket list that I’ve been able to tick off recently was visiting The Booth Home Of The Bearded Baker in Langebaan.
About The Booth Home Of The Bearded Baker
The Booth The Home Of The Bearded Baker is actually two businesses on one premises in Langebaan.
The Booth is owned by Pia Azaar and offers birthday party supplies which can be personalised and balloons. They do helium balloons, glitter ballons, balloon arches, strips, and garlands. You can also find a big supply of yarn at The Booth. The Booth also runs the Costa Coffee side of things at the venue.
The Booth previously operated from Olifantskop in Langebaan.
The Bearded Baker is owned by Etienne Du Toit and he does the food side of everything including the restaurant, bakes, cakes, and ice cream. The restaurant menu includes breakfasts, toasted sandwiches, quiches, and cakes. They are in the process of updating their menu so feel free to contact them for up to date information on their menu options.
There is indoor and outdoor seating available, as well as a kids play area. They also offer the venue for kids birthday parties.
Both businesses are open from 07h30 till 17h00 Monday to Friday and from 07h30 till 15h00 on Saturdays. Their address is 6 Strand Street, Long Acres, Langebaan, 7357. See the Google map embedded at the bottom of this post for directions.
My Review
I’ve been wanting to visit The Booth Home Of The Bearded Baker. My son and the Pia’s son are in the same chess team and I had heard so much about her business. Two days after my daughter’s tooth extraction we needed to have some mommy daughter bonding time so I decided to take her out for a breakfast treat.
The waitress was fantastic and very with helping us choose some soft food items that my daughter could manage to eat after her op. I had the full breakfast and my daughter at all the soft things on my plate along with some chips. The food was delicious and a big portion.
After we ate I browsed the venue and had a look at the balloons, party supplies, baking supplies, and yarn. I love to crochet and knit but have not managed to find the time for years, I’m definitely going to head back sometime to buy some yarn so I can start a new project.
The cakes and bakes all looked amazing and I saw a sign with ice cream flavours and oh my word they look interesting! The flavours include Peanut Butter & Caramel, Turkish Delight & Choc-chip, Bacon & Maple, Pistachio & Choc-chip, Chocolate & Hazelnut, Liquorice & Coconut, Avocado, Amond & Honey, and Cassata.
Unfortunately I was so full after my breakfast there was no way that I would be able to try out some of the ice cream, however, after I posted on social media The Bearded Baker reached out to me to invite me to go back and taste them. You don’t need to tell me twice, I’m so going to take him up on that.
If you are looking for a place to hold a birthday party The Booth Home Of The Bearded Baker offers everything you need, or you can get what you need from The Booth for an epic party. I also highly recommend eating out at The Bearded Baker, it was a lovely meal out with excellent service. Check out my Instagram carousel for more images from our visit.
