The best gift for me is always a spa voucher so I can go for a massage so I was over the moon when my husband gave me a spa voucher for Shelley Point Hotel Spa. I’ve been there a few times in the past but a very long time ago.

My Shelley Point Hotel Spa Review

For my birthday my husband gave me a R750 voucher for the Shelley Point Hotel Spa. A spa voucher is always one of my favourite gifts. I booked for a 45 minute back, neck, and scalp massage (R450), brow and lash tint (R160), brow wax (R80), and chin wax (R80).

It’s the first time I’ve ever had a chin wax, I’ve never needed it before but since I hit 40 years old I’ve been getting these awful chin hairs. I call them my witch hairs… I have been managing to keep on top of them with my laser hair removal machine, but since there is so much loadshedding recently I’ve lost control of that.

Rachema did my treatments and she was absolutely superb. The massage was heavenly, she applied the perfect amount of pressure and I felt amazing afterwards. I really needed that massage, this year has been incredibly hard and stressful.

I loved how she did my eyes! She did it better than I’ve ever had it done before. There have been times I’ve had my eyes done and come out with eyebrows that are super thin, or like I have two caterpillars on my face. She did them perfectly, not too thin and not too thick. It looks natural and exactly how I like it.

Wearing makeup is not for me. Yes I do wear makeup for special occasions like weddings, but I don’t like the way I look or the way that it feels wearing makeup so I much prefer having my eyebrows and lashes tinted. I don’t get to do it often though, maybe every few years if I’m lucky. It is a real treat.

The Shelley Point Hotel Spa is a beautiful place to go. The decor is so relaxing and beautiful. If you are ever in the West Coast I recommend you pay a visit to the Shelley Point Hotel Spa.

My husband and I stayed in the hotel once about 10 years ago, when our daughter was a baby. I can’t remember too much about the experience since at that time our daughter hardly ever slept. My mother in law looked after her for the night while hubby and I spent the night at the hotel. All I remember is that we got a great deal on a winter special. Maybe it is time for us to take advantage of the winter specials again.
