September 2023 Monthly Update

September 2023

Visit To Cape Town

On the first weekend of September my kids and I had a lovely trip to Cape Town. We had lunch at Cabo Beach Club, then we went to watch The Barbie Movie (which was fantastic by the way!). On Saturday we went to my friend’s house to celebrate her daughter’s 12th birthday and on the Sunday we visited my close friends Judy Macgregor (from Fun Mamma SA) and Lauren Kinghorn.

The weekend was superb and loads of fun, but on the Monday after I started my 10 week UCT course on SEO and both my children started exams!

Kids Exams And School Holidays

The weekend visit to Cape Town was superb and loads of fun, but on the Monday after I started my 10 week UCT course on SEO and both my children started exams! I came down with awful flu the next day which meant the struggle was real getting things done. Thankfully I was only sick for a week, but it was tough going that week.

My kids did beautifully in their exams and end of term marks for the third term, and my SEO course is going very well so far.

Kruger National Park

We went to the Kruger National Park for five days and it was an experience for us all to remember for a long time. We had the best family bonding time and saw so many animals. This is a family trip that my husband has been dreaming of ever since we got married and it finally became a reality. My kids loved every minute of it.

We plan to go again in another two to three years time and spend a bit longer.

SEO Course

On the 4th of September I started an SEO (search engine optimisation) course by University Of Cape Town through GetSmarter and I am loving every minute of it. I am find SEO incredibly interesting and so beneficial for my business. I’ve spent a lot of effort learning as much as I can on my own over the years since I started my website, and I am looking forward to finishing my course and getting a certificate in SEO.

I’m planning on branching out and offering SEO services to businesses in South Africa so that I can increase my income. So far I’m doing well in my course, but it is incredibly tiring keeping up my blogging, running a household, looking after my kids, and doing the course all at the same time. It will be worth it though!
