Baby K'tan Original Baby Carrier Review

Features of the Baby K’tan Original Baby Carrier Review

One feature that I love about the Baby K’tan Baby Carrier is that it is buckle free. The carrier was designed taking two loops of fabric that have been joined together by a third loop. It is made from 100% cotton and was designed to just slip on like a t-shirt. This carrier will actually grow with your child! There are five different ways to use the Baby K’tan, so you can literally start wearing at it birth
until the child is up to 35 pounds.

The five positions are as follows:

  • Kangaroo position
  • Hug position
  • Adventure position
  • Explore position
  • Hip position

All positions are for infants 8 pounds to 35 pounds. You do not need to remove the Baby K’tan in order to switch positions for your baby.
The Baby K’tan will allow you to be close to your child without excess fabric. There are no confusing instructions to put it on, and it will evenly distribute the weight of your baby.

The material of this baby carrier is amazing. I appreciate that it is lightweight, which those in hot climates will love as well. Air is better able to circulate with this material, so you and baby will not be a hot, sweaty mess.

There is an instruction manual that comes with the Baby K’tan Original Baby Carrier. This manual does an excellent job in showing how the carrier is to be worn, with step by step instructions for each position listed above.

The Baby K’tan Original Baby Carrier comes with a carrying bag that is convertible. The bag can be flipped inside out to convert it to a sash to have more support for the baby while wearing the carrier.

Pros of the Baby K’tan Original Baby Carrier Review

The Baby K’tan Baby Carrier comes in a variety of colors: Black, Denim, Heather Gray, and Eggplant., as well as others. Prints are also offered for an extra charge. I also appreciate that they come in different sizes: XXS, XS, S, M, L, and XL, making it feasible for both moms and dads.

Pricing will depend on which size of the baby carrier is purchased.

A huge pro for anyone is the ease of putting the carrier on. There is no worrying about buckles or extra fabric that could be tripped over. Once you learn how to put the carrier on, it will become second nature to you. Slip it over your head, and put one arm through each hole.
Many parents, including myself, love how easy the Baby K’tan baby carrier is to clean. If baby spits up, the carrier can be spot cleaned with some simple scrubbing. It can also be placed in the washing machine on a cold setting. The baby carrier really holds up well, even after several washings and daily use! The material is all natural as well and can go in the dryer.

I simply adore how the Baby K’tan keeps my baby close to me. I feel that it is very important to have snuggle time and for baby to be as close to their parents as they can in order to have a sense of security.

This baby carrier does just that.

Mothers that have chosen to breastfeed will appreciate that feedings can be done while this is worn in a discrete manner.

One of the biggest pros of this baby carrier is that it promotes a healthy development of the hips. With the hips spread and the knees bent, the baby will be in a natural position. The carrier has been approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.

Cons of the Baby K’tan Original Baby Carrier Review

Probably the biggest con would be there is not any sort of padding on the Baby K’tan. This is not a huge deal for many if the carrier is only used in short duration. However, if you are going to be wearing the carrier for quite some time, it may start to become uncomfortable wearing.

One thing that many parents hate is that what fits the lady does not fit the man. In this case, most parents will need to have one for mom and one for dad in order to keep baby snug against the body.

I feel that perhaps this baby carrier would be better if the material were moisture wicking. While it is not a huge deal breaker for me, those in very hot climates might appreciate this feature.

Summary

I truly hope you have enjoyed learning about the Baby K’tan Original Baby Carrier. It is perfect for both moms and dads to carry their baby, freeing up the hands. It gives your child a sense of security when they are placed in it. Baby can be cozy while being close to their caregiver. For me personally, it has more pros than cons. I feel it is a carrier that no parent should be without.
