My daughter loved making her own glitter glue. She loves doing arty things and she is not shy with glitter glue. One bought tube can be gone in the blink of an eye with her.
Much to my happiness this recipe makes about 6 cups of glitter glue. She has done her best but hasn’t managed to dent this yet.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Maizena
- 1 tablespoon of fine salt
- 6 cups of hot water
- 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
- Two heaped tablespoons of glitter per cup of glue
Method
Whisk all ingredients (except the glitter) together in a large pot and place on high heat. Keep whisking until it turns translucent which only takes a few minutes. Divide the mixture into separate bowls to cool before adding the glitter.
The mixture will keep in the fridge for about 3 months. It might be hard when you take it out to use it, just add in a tiny bit of boiling water and stir.
This is a great activity to do with kids, it will keep them busy making the glitter glue and provide them with hours of fun doing art activities.
Such an awesome idea, definately going to try it, thanks Kaboutjie ❤ xxx
It is actually lovely and very easy to make 🙂 Enjoy
What an amazing idea. I wonder if it will work if I add food colouring instead of glitter?
Yes I am sure you can! I saw one recipe that said to use food colouring and glitter but chose to just use glitter for ours. Play around and find something awesome that works for you.
