Benefits of Blogging for a Business

How Blogging Will Benefit Your Mompreneur Business

When I tell people I am a blogger one of the first things they usually ask is what exactly is it that I do, along with how do I make money by blogging?

To put it simply, bloggers create content. It can be written content, or it can be video content (vlogging), or you can do both. Bloggers usually choose a niche (which is a topic) and then they write articles about that topic. Your niche can be broad, like this website (where I write about anything and everything to do with parenting, being a mom, women related articles, as well as family, home, health etc) or it can be a very targeted niche.

If you have a business you have your niche set out for you already.

What you may not know is that my website started off as an online baby store and I started blogging for all the reasons listed below. It didn’t take me long to start really enjoying blogging. It also didn’t take me long to realize that blogging could be my full time income instead of being merely a benefit to my online store. This lead to me closing my baby store in February 2016 so that I could focus on being a mommy blogger full time.

So now let’s look at how blogging will benefit your mompreneur business.

Benefits blogging business

1 Blogs Drive Search Traffic To Your Website

Let’s face it, if you want to start your own business these days you need a website. I’m not going to go into why you need a website, the fact is that if you don’t have one you are going to be left behind.

We’ve all heard it – content is king. The reason why content is king is that the more high quality content you have on your website the more search traffic you will receive to your website.

By creating content that is relevant to your business you will be driving potential customers to your website. Each time you publish a new blog post you are creating a new way for readers to find your website.

2 Blogging Builds Authority In Your Industry

Blogging is one of the best ways to create authority for yourself and for your brand. When you share your expert knowledge with your readers you are creating trust. When your readers trust you they will be more likely to buy from you than from a competitor that they are not as familiar with.

This means that your conversion rate will most likely increase if you add a blog to your website.

3 Blogging Will Support Your Social Media Marketing Efforts

Marketing on social media is so much easier when you have great content that your fans are interested in.  You won’t be very successful sharing everyone else’s content on your social media channels since you are sending your fans to someone else’s website.

And let’s face it, if you only share promotional posts for your products and services you won’t hold the attention of your social media fans for long.

People want to read interesting articles. By creating those articles and sharing them on your social media channels you will be drawing more traffic to your website while at the same time making your social media channels more interesting and fun to follow.

It will also create opportunities for your readers to share your content socially too.

This is an all round win situation!

4 Blogging Shows Your Personality

Every person is unique and that is what will make you stand out when you are blogging on your website. You will be able to humanize your brand when you write articles for your readers. This will give your readers more insight into you and your company.

5 Opportunity to Showcase Your Products & Services

Blogging gives you an additional way to introduce your products and services to your audience in a way that does not always need to be hard selling. Yes you can write a blog post about your product or service, but you can also write an article about a problem that your readers may be having and in doing so you can recommend ways to solve that problem. And yes you got it, you can recommend your products and services within that article.

6 Long Term Results From Blogging

A lot of marketing and advertising efforts are relatively short term. Think about sharing a product on your Facebook page. How much traffic will you get from that share and how long will that traffic last for? Most of your traffic will come immediately, with some traffic on the second and maybe even the third day if you are lucky.

However with blogging you have the opportunity for blog posts to generate search traffic for many years to come. You probably won’t find the results show immediately but after blogging for a while you will find that articles that you wrote and published a long time ago are still sending you traffic months and years down the line.

7 Blogging Is Not Expensive

Yes it may take some time to write some blog posts and perhaps you may hire a content writer to write them for you, but even so the amount of money you will pay a content writer is minimal compared to the long term payoff for your business.

If you find good blog writing services it will be a smart financial investment for your business.

Blogging content marketing

8 Blogging Can Bring In Extra Income

Content marketing is a great way to market your business and you can also add more income streams to your business. There is a reason why people contact bloggers to help promote their business. Bloggers can become big time online influencers and this means that there is an opportunity for you to really increase your income.

Also remember that there are always more ways to monetize your website than just selling products and services, but of course you need the traffic in order to be able to do that. Blogging brings in a lot more traffic and engagement, making this possible for you.

When you look at all these points its easy to see why so many businesses are now blogging and I really recommend that you do too!
