Scotts Nursery,Vredenburg, is one of our favourite places to go when the weather is warm. It is one of the few places in the West Coast children can run around outside in a secure environment.
Phillip Scott, a local dad to 2 young children, is always at the front desk ready to welcome us with a smile and buckets of food for our children to feed the animals. It costs R10 per bucket.
My children get great pleasure feeding the ducks, geese, goats, tortoises, rabbits, llamas and pony. Pony rides are available at R5.
The jungle gym, swings and slide makes for a great play place for kids.
Sitting down to a light meal and refreshments at Scotts Nursery tea garden is a pleasure. I can easily watch my children from the table and my kids get to run around. There are always plenty of young kids which means they have some playmates to keep them busy instead of climbing all over me!
You can also arrange to have your child’s birthday party at Scott’s Nursery.
This venue is top on the list for my family on a summer’s day.

This looks like such a great place for a family outing. I used to go to the Barnyard in Tokai with the kids, but unfortunately is burnt down.
Will definitely try this soon 🙂
