Ins and outs of Vitamin C and D in relation to immune-boosting…

Vitamin C and Vitamin D play important roles in boosting the immune system.1&2 Think of your immune system like the military that protects your body against invaders such as viruses and bacteria from coming in, taking over, and trying to land claim to your body.

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that supports the function of various immune cells and enhances their ability to protect against infection. It’s also necessary for cellular death, which helps keep your immune system healthy by clearing out old cells and replacing them with new ones. Supplementing with Vitamin C may reduce the duration and severity of upper respiratory tract infections, including the common cold.

Vitamin D – nicknamed “the sunshine vitamin” – is another vitmin essential for immune function and can affect bone health, cardiovascular health, immunity, autoimmune disease, type I diabetes, and mental health. Studies have also shown an association of lower Vitamin D levels with increased rates of respiratory tract infection, including influenza.4

You’re unique. Your vitamins should be, too.
