Tips To Make Your Outdoor Wedding Perfect

Indoor weddings are beautiful, but an outdoor wedding takes it to a whole new level. An outdoor wedding is far different from a charming church wedding in terms of vibes and atmosphere. The matrimonial ceremony is held outside, in the midst of nature. Out are the days where there are only a few venue options to choose from, nowadays you can hold your exchange of vows anywhere you can think of.

From beach, farm, lake, hill, mountain, cave and even underwater, weddings today are more creative than ever. The sky’s the limit when it comes to an outdoor wedding venue. In exchange for a magnificent backdrop, there are a couple of challenges you may come across when you decide to have an outdoor wedding. But these should not stop you from having the best time of your life on one of your most important days.

Here are a few tips to make your outdoor wedding day perfect.

Tips To Make Your Outdoor Wedding Perfect

Comfort

You and your soon-to-be spouse are not the only one present on your wedding day, there are your guests. You have to keep in mind that your wedding day is a celebration focused on you guys but the experience is shared with special people in your life. You need to think about their comfort. Not everyone is built to be in the outdoors.

If you decide to stage your wedding up in the hills, you might want to consider how the older folks will do. Make sure there are ushers to assist them. In the summertime, the day can be well-lit but it is usually warmer so make sure you have industrial fans around. In winter, you get to see the picture of a wonderland, but people can get pretty chilly so make sure they are attended well with extra clothing or hot drinks.

Electricity

Unlike other conventional wedding venues like churches and hotels where plugs are scattered everywhere, an outdoor wedding may leave you with the problem to power up your lights, sounds and other things. Nature as a background is awesome but as a celebration, you need to have sounds for music and your microphone; lights to continue the fun up until sundown.

Make sure there is a source of power in your outdoor wedding. If the venue itself is far from the possible electricity source you can just use some cord extensions. If it still does not meet, you might as well rent an electric generator. Just put it far from your crowd as it can be annoyingly noisy.

Food

The food aspect for a wedding is already complicated, what more when you choose to do it outside. The logistics, delivery, preparation and service can be tricky. The first thing to do is ask your preferred caterer if they are capable of doing their business outdoors. Make sure that the food in your menu does not get easily spoiled as environmental factors can vary.

If it is possible, look for a caterer near the location of your wedding and place your reception in the nearest place possible as well. For example, if you like a magically rustic farm wedding, then a barn nearby can be a good place to hold the evening feast.

Insects

The beautiful outdoor is for us to admire, but it is home to little critters and insects. If you happen to be getting married during the summer season, it is inevitable to see some insects like flies and mosquitoes flying around. Not only is this annoying, but your guests won’t stay long if they are getting covered with insect bites.

Protect your guests and the sanctity of your day, by putting out insect repellents around and within the vicinity of your wedding venue. Organic repellents  will have minimal impact on your rented nature, mild to the nose of your crowd, yet effective against bugs. Organic repellents that can be used to sway away insects are:

  • Citronella
  • Lemon Eucalyptus
  • Black Pepper Plant
  • Peppermint
  • Soybean
  • Rosemary
  • Geraniol
