Ways To Tighten Sagging Skin After Pregnancy

Why It Takes Time To Tighten Sagging Skin After Pregnancy

Although pregnancy pouch is natural, sagging skin stays when women continuously gain weight. It takes time before the skin on the belly tightens again. It is said that women who gained less than 30 pounds, and those who exercised regularly during pregnancy would regain their shape faster than those who added more weight and were less active.

The time it takes to tighten skin after pregnancy depends on how active they were during their pregnancy.  It is also influenced by other factors, including the amount of weight gained, bone structure and genes.

Tips To Remove Your Belly Fat And Tighten Sagging Skin Faster

  1. Lose Weight Gradually

In order for you to tighten your belly skin, you need to shed some pounds first. When you slowly lose weight, your skin has more time to regain elasticity. Some women eagerly want to lose weight fast so they are losing weight the wrong way. However, you need to take note that losing weight immediately will only make your problem worse. Losing weight too fast will result in having more loose skin. The ideal weight to lose is 2 to 3 pounds a week.

  1. Increase Water Intake

Water hydrates the skin, making it more elastic. It helps lessen the water on the tummy area and burn calories more effectively. It keeps the skin healthy and tight.

  1. Eat Protein Foods

You need to build more muscles than fat, so you need to eat more protein. Protein foods contain collagen that is essential for tightening the skin. The amount of protein that you should consume, depends on your physical activity and weight. Normally, you should consume 50 grams of protein everyday.

  1. Breastfeed

Breastfeeding is not only healthy for your baby, but for you also. When you breastfeed your baby, the calories are converted into milk, thus, helping you to lose weight faster. It is a fact that breastfeeding moms lose weight faster than non-breastfeeding moms.

Massage is one effective way to tighten the skin. It also improves the blood flow in various areas of the body. It is also good to apply lotion with vitamins A, C, E and K that help tighten the skin. Massage should be done once or twice a day.

Exfoliate your belly every time you take a shower to tighten your loose skin. It helps improve the blood circulation and helps create new, elastic skin.

Exercise after birth

  1. Do Cardiovascular Exercise

It’s totally impossible to lose weight on only a particular part of the body. Do cardiovascular exercises for at least 20 minutes, 3 to 5 days a week. It is the fastest and effective way to get your belly back in shape.

Planking is an effective way to firm loose skin on the tummy. It is an isometric exercise that sucks and holds the belly tight. The repeated sucking and tightening procedure is a great way to improve the belly. You can begin with 2 or 3 planks while holding it for 15 seconds. Increase it by doing 30 seconds and 1 minute planks.
