Having a pleasant smell is a must for many women. Be it to make her presence felt, or simply to make sure that she is confident that she has a nice fragrance, it is really important to put on those few drops of a perfume. The market for perfumes is one of the biggest ones with thousands of perfumes to choose from at varying prices. However we all know that for a perfume to have a really pleasant fragrance and, most importantly, a long-lasting one, it is best to stick to certain renowned brands.

Here are some of the top fragrances for women that are very much in vogue at the moment.
- Chanel Coco Mademoiselle is a perfume that has been very popular due to its orange, mandarin, mimosa and Italian Jasmine notes.
- Chanel No5 is probably the most well-known Chanel perfume and one can say that it is an iconic fragrance. Despite the fact that it was released back in the 1920s, only minimal changes were made to it since then.
- Chance by Chanel is another popular perfume from this range.
- Amazing Grace has a unique feminine scent that is classic and long-lasting.
- La Vie est Belle by Lancome is another unique scent for women.
- Daisy by Marc Jacobs comes in a beautiful bottle with daisies on top, and a scent that combines the pleasant aura of violet leaves, jasmines and strawberries all in one.
- Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is a floral fragrance, as the name itself implies. It combines the sweet scents of roses, orchids, freesias and patchouli in a unique way.
- J’Adore by Dior is a best seller thanks to its rose and jasmine aura.
- Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent has a rather strong scent which makes it quite intoxicating.
- Light Blue Eau de Toilette by Dolce & Gabbana has a unique combination of scents from white rose, bluebell, cedarwood, amber, Sicilian citron and musk, for a truly mesmerizing fragrance.

Am not a fan for a strong perfume expecially now that I have strong sense of smell
This is one of my utmost favourite topics.
I said to my husband a few years ago that my dream is to have a drawer filled with perfumes because a lady can’t just have one perfume.
Sure, we all have our favourite scents.
I have very fond memories of my Granny on my Mom’s side. She was such an inspiration and icon to me when I was growing up. I remember she had this big vanity case with all her beauty essentials. My granddad died when my Mom was in matric. So, basically my gran’s permanent residence was at my Mom’s older sister’s house but she used to travel to all her children (she had six) and stayed for a month or two.
When she finished her bath, she would open up that vanity and start her ritual. In those days the ladies still wore talcum powder. Her favourite perfume used to be Moondrops by Revlon. I also have a bottle in my cupboard. I didn’t think that you could still buy them. But Red Square still sells them.
Whenever I wear my Moondrops, it brings back fond memories of my Gran. It is the same with my best friend and Mom. Whenever I smell Elizabeth Arden’s Red door, it reminds me of them.
Well, I got close to fulfilling my dream. I was fortunate enough to win a few fragrances over the years and I have a small collection now. I don’t feel like wearing the same fragrance very day.
I enjoy mixing it up and wear whatever I’m in the mood for.
Floral perfumes are usually top on my list. My most treasured perfume is my Escada Elixir. I only wear this fragrance on special occasions. Then my second favourite is Please pleats by Issey Miyake (the peach bottle). It really smells divine with it’s floral and peach notes.
If I had to choose, I think I would really love to try the Flowerbomb fragrance on your list.
One thing that ladies should remember when putting on perfume, is to keep it subtle. A lot of women make the mistake of “showering” themselves with perfume.
Instead of smelling alluring and refreshing, the smell is so over powering that I instantly sneeze when they walk past me. And when they leave the room, that smell lingers on long after they’ve left.
When I want to feel confident, I always put on a good perfume and my favourite lipstick.
