How To Get Paid To Write
You will need to send in an application (at the bottom of this page) which will be assessed. You will either be approved or you will be given feedback on why your application was not successful.

What Type Of Writing Will I Be Doing?
Approved paid contributors will be paid for writing blog comments, creating new forum topics and for replying to discussions in the forum as required by Kaboutjie.
It is as simple as that – you will receive more guidelines once you are an approved paid contributor.
What Do I Need To Qualify As A Paid Contributor?
You don’t need to have any experience as a writer to qualify, however you do need a good command of the English language and be able to write good content.
You need to be a registered member with a minimum rank of Regular Member check your profile to see your rank.
How Does Ranking Work?
Your ranking reflects how active you have been on the Kaboutjie website – when you first join you will have a ranking of “Newbie”. The more active you are the more points you gain – ranking is based on a point system.
You can see your rank and points from within your profile.
When you comment on blog posts, comment on other member’s status updates, create forum topics, join forum discussions, create friendships with other members and refer other members you earn points.
Different activities have different point values and some activities have limits for earning daily or monthly points. This is to prevent spamming and trying to game the system.
The best way to increase your rank is to log in regularly and be active daily.
The amount of points earned for different activities and limits may change from time to time.

- Power Member
- Super Member
- Golden Member
- Platinum Member
How Much Money Can I Earn Writing For Kaboutjie?
This will vary depending on what content Kaboutjie needs at the time. It may be a small amount or it may be a larger amount. If your writing is great and you provide value you may be asked to write more than the other contributors.
Kaboutjie will always need new content so it is up to you to provide the value that is needed if you want to earn more.

Will I Be Employed By Kaboutjie?
No you will not be an employee of Kaboutjie – you will be a freelancer working from home, performing the task of providing content for as long as Kaboutjie has a need for paid contributors. At any time Kaboutjie may deem it unnecessary to continue with paid contributors.
How Will I Be Paid?
If you are in South Africa you will be paid in South African Rands into your bank account. If you are anywhere else in the world you will be paid in USD via Paypal.
There are no other payment options. If you cannot be paid in either of these ways please do not apply to be a paid contributor.
Contributors will be paid monthly.
What Can I Do To Increase My Chances Of Being A Paid Contributor?
It is simple – create awesome quality content that is engaging and thought provoking.
Here are some tips to follow:
- Get yourself ranked as a Regular Member
- Write 100+ word comments and replies – this is what we will be looking for in a Contributor!
- Write unique content, as in not copied from anywhere – accounts will be checked for plagiarism.
- Do not write any thin content such as “nice post”.
- Do not write using text speak – write properly.
- Make sure your writing is clear, concise and free from spelling and grammar errors.
- Engage with other members of the community.
- Be true to yourself, share your opinions, experience and knowledge with others.
- Do not be judgmental or confrontational with other members – no trolling, racist or rude behavior.
