Just want to share my stress and ask for your prayers. We have been having rainy cloudy weather all week. Today we have had constant rain since just after 1 this morning. I was awake all night thanks to my shrunken bladder at nearly 38 weeks pregnant. Today its cold, its dreary and its wet. Very wet.
My little monster will be three years old tomorrow. We are having a swimming party on Saturday, weather permitting. Now this is my headache. I invited 14 little people to my house to swim. The weather forecast says it will be 24 and rainy. I am hoping beyond hopes that the weather man is wrong, as they soooo often are.
Please hold thumbs. The pool is heated but if it rains we are out of luck. I hired a jumping castle for in case. We have a small jungle gym and trampoline but still if its wet I have a crises. Regardless of all the props. As its all outside.
Also we have a huge patio but its not under roof. I can try to borrow a few gazebos but it only solves the dry table problem. So we will spend perhaps half an hour around the tables having lunch, party packs and cake. I am still stuck with having to entertain the grand total of fourteen three year olds indoors.
Any ideas or suggestions for how to keep three year old’s busy in doors should it rain?
I’m thinking break out some paint in the garage. I could perhaps go and get a few things craft wise to make it more interesting. I’m thinking having an Easter egg hunt indoors- yes not ideal but I’m desperate.
I’m not worried about the adults as I can accommodate them indoors. Its the children that have me over the edge stressed. Now factor in that I am on bedrest and just having a minor melt down….
I sent the invitations out in January already. Never thinking bedrest will ever come up. My first baby was two and a half weeks past his due date. I think I had a false sense of security in that I took for granted that my second baby will also only come well after 40 weeks. I also foolishly never thought about the weather not playing along…
Please pray for sunny weather???? And please share some ideas to keep the little monsters entertained.March 8, 2018 at 11:08 am #29987
Remember the ‘pin the tail on the donkey’game. You can use that and just adapt it to the theme of the party
Hope it will be sunny and all will turn out greatMarch 9, 2018 at 1:34 pm #30018
@smurfy84 fabulous idea.
The weather has now turned all sunny and balmy. Then the municipality arrived and have decided to dig up our driveway and the sidewalk on both sides of our street. They are having fiber cables installed.
I feel like I just can’t win.March 12, 2018 at 8:09 am #30069
How did the party turn out?March 13, 2018 at 5:24 pm #30152
@smurfy84 The weather was perfect. I know all the kids had a fabulous time!! There were lots and lots of tears when most had to leave. We even had a sleep over request from a 4 year old.
The parents appeared to have a good time. Every one loved the rib burgers we made and the cheese cake flew off the table. I made 50 mini cheesecakes and we were only 22 adults and 14 children. Not a crumb was left. Note to self- make a 100 mini cheese cakes in future.
Oh and the cake was just too fabulous. My little monster was over the moon with the cake and the whole set up. He is still thanking me and telling all who will listen about his party.March 14, 2018 at 7:35 am #30162
