Privacy

We will not give your e-mail address or mobile number to anybody, ever, unless they produce a valid court order. Some of our e-mail and sms messages are sent by third-party providers (who have the servers and systems to do so quickly and efficiently); these providers are highly professional companies that comply with stringent requirements for privacy and security on the lists that we give to them.

We ask you to provide your real name and mobile number in order to opt in to receive messages and special offers from us; we confirm that opt in, (known as double opt in), in order to be 100% sure we don’t bother you with stuff you have no interest in. We track how often you receive, and reply, to those messages, and the offers you show interest in, again, this is just to provide the best service to you we can offer.

For statistics and analysis we use the standard customer data analytics in our data systems, and Google Analytics services, like just about any other respectable website in the world. This general data we analyse ourselves (to see what works, where people go, what they order, that kind of thing) and we share some data with our advertisers, so they know how many customers we have in Iceland, for example. But the data that we share is generic, overall, and in no way allows for the identification of any individual customer. When you sign up to receive messages from us, or to order on the site, we ask you for certain personal details: a mobile number, email address, and so on. Some of this information is optional. If you do provide it, it may make it easier for us to reach you (to tell you how great a customer you are, perhaps) or to provide you with new and exciting services (like new spring or summer specials). Again, this information is not shared with anyone outside of Kaboutjie. Likewise, we use technology such as cookies, image tracking in email and other forms of monitoring to help us understand reader needs and optimise the website. All of these techniques are stock standard and all data gathered is only shared with outsiders once we are satisfied that it can not be abused.

Everything we do is based on a single principle; we want customers like you, we want you to love what we do, and we want to make it really easy to get what you want, when you want it, with the least possible effort on your part.
